"Creating an image is like cooking a gourmet meal"
Nicola Lazi is a photographer who approaches his
work with zest and appreciates the best things in life. His wife, Andrea,
is the creative spirit behind post-production work.
The Lazi’s have an artistic soul and a love of good food, which is
evident when describing their photographic process: ”First I sort and
choose the images,” explains Andrea. ”This is like shopping for
the best ingredients. Then I transform them with Leaf Capture, where I precisely
define color, sharpness, contrast, and size. This part is like washing, cutting,
and flavoring. The trick is in the combination of the right spices and ingredients
with the sequence of preparation steps.
I then use Photoshop for retouching, like for eliminating scratches and dust.
This is the final touch, like adding the right wine. If this all comes together
and the guests are satisfied and happy, then it is a successful artwork.
Not every guest—or every client—wants or gets a full meal. But
with the right combination,
we are able to satisfy any client.”
