Demonstrating the Essence of Speed

“I shoot a variety of things in my portfolio,” says Swiss photographer Daniel Infanger, whose work covers cars, people and landscapes. In many of his projects, speed is of the essence the ability to capture the image of a rapidly-moving object, or the ability to work quickly with busy personalities who have tight schedules.

Capturing instant moments

Two of Infanger’s projects particularly illustrate the power of Leaf Aptus 65S, coupled with his mediumformat Mamiya RZ67 and 645 AFDII. “Photographing moving people, like the Swiss band the Delilahs, requires speed. You have an instant to capture the moment. You also want life-size quality. I wanted to print 3x5m lambda prints for an exhibition – 6 stripes of 80cm wide and 3m high. It looked like one image. The quality was amazing. Life-size. All the details, the clothes, the metal shine on their
equipment.”
